An orb that appeared to be burning was sighted by hundreds
of people as it drifted across the sky in Lima, Peru; setting alien hunters in
a frenzy about what the object could be. It was seen leaving a trail of light
behind it.
The burning unidentified flying object (UFO) was captured on
video by a Lima resident and uploaded on YouTube. Peruvian News site Canal N
also featured a story about the glowing orb.
A similar glowing UFO was reported to have been spotted by
those living in other parts of the South American country; igniting suspicions
from conspiracy theorists of a “coordinated visit from extraterrestrial (ET)
beings.”
Alien hunters believe that Peru is a favorite destination of
ETs; with almost half of Peruvians claiming to have had encounter with aliens
in the past. They believe that the aliens are drawn to the country because of
its many ancient sites, including the Machu Picchu citadel in the Andes
Mountains, and that they are pleased by the aesthetic beauty of the old
structures.
Some viewers suggested that the glowing orb is a balloon
from Project Loon created by X; an American semi-secret research and
development facility founded by Google.
Project Loon aims to bring internet access to remote area
with the help of balloons. The balloons carrying special equipment, notes Daily
Mail, drift to the edge of space and help to transmit signal from ground
stations, which in turn gives better connectivity to remote areas of the world.
However, there has been no confirmation from Google’s
Project Loon if the burning UFO is in fact one of its balloons.
